Training & Safety Disclaimer
Draft: details marked "to be confirmed" are not final yet.
Training involves physical risk. Read this before you train or record an assessment.
Not medical advice
ClusterFit gives general training information. It is not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and it does not replace a doctor, physiotherapist or qualified trainer. ClusterFit does not know your health or medical history.
Check with a doctor first
Talk to a doctor before you start, or before you train harder, if you:
- have or suspect a heart or lung condition, high blood pressure, or have ever had chest pain or fainted during exercise;
- have a recent injury, operation or ongoing pain;
- are pregnant or recently gave birth;
- have a chronic condition or take medication that affects exercise;
- have not trained for a long time.
Training involves physical risk
Every form of training carries a risk of injury, such as strained muscles, joint problems, falls or overheating, and in rare cases serious heart problems. Assessments like the run test, loaded carries and the march ask for maximal or near-maximal effort and carry more risk.
You train at your own responsibility. Choose loads, pace and distances you can handle, build up gradually and rest when you are ill, injured or exhausted.
Stop and get help
Stop immediately and get help if you notice:
- pain, pressure or tightness in your chest;
- severe shortness of breath, dizziness, light-headedness or fainting;
- an irregular, racing or pounding heartbeat;
- sudden, severe pain or a joint giving way;
- signs of heat illness, such as confusion, headache, nausea or no longer sweating.
In an emergency call 112. See a doctor about pain that does not go away, swelling, or anything else that worries you.
No guaranteed results
Results differ from person to person. ClusterFit does not guarantee that you will reach a certain fitness level, pass an assessment, or be selected or admitted by Defence. A pass or fail in the app is an indication calculated from what you record, not an official result.
Not an official Defence product
ClusterFit is not officially affiliated with or endorsed by the Dutch Ministry of Defence or the Netherlands Armed Forces. Its programs are ClusterFit's own preparation plans, not official Defence training schedules. Always check the official requirements and instructions from Defensie; they prevail over anything in ClusterFit.
